The Danan Oil Field is one of the fields included in the maintenance and production enhancement plan aimed at increasing and maintaining crude oil production from operational fields. In 2018, the project was awarded to the MAPNA Group under an EPC-EPD contract. The Danan Oil Field, located in Ilam Province, aims to increase production by over 11,000 barrels per day through the drilling of 11 new wells, with an investment target of 142 million dollars. The field is situated 220 kilometers south of Kermanshah and 30 kilometers southeast of Dehloran County.
Key actions taken in the project include surface operations such as the design, procurement, and implementation of 11 well locations, access roads, fire lines, and surface facilities. Additionally, flow paths and pipelines from the 11 well locations to the Danan manifold were developed, along with the construction of the Danan manifold itself. A desalination unit was built at the Dehloran operational unit, which is currently being commissioned. These efforts increased daily oil production by 2.5 times, reaching over 20,000 barrels per day, and enhanced the processing capacity of the desalination unit by 10,000 barrels per day. Notably, the project achieved 365 consecutive days of work without any incidents.
Subsurface operations involved drilling and completing 11 new vertical wells, setting a record for drilling and completing a well in just 107 days. The project achieved the highest production rate, exceeding 3,000 barrels per day, and operated three drilling rigs simultaneously. Furthermore, 330 consecutive days of drilling operations were completed without incidents. Additionally, 3D seismic studies were conducted over an area of 500 square kilometers to support the project’s success.
